Q: Good morning, I was terminated during my probationary period this week. I understand there is no right of appeal during this period. However, the HR contact has told me to seek legal advice as they believe I may have a case. I submitted a confidential submission to HR raising concerns in good faith about my manager, disclosing a number of very serious issues, and was told that my identity would be protected and I would not be treated differently or victimized in any way. My identity was leaked to management, and I was removed from all accounts, moved desks, told not to meet with any colleagues, and then terminated as a result. Repair is not possible due to torn wires inside the mechanism. Q: My company told me to find a new job last November, as they will stop operation from January 2024, though they renewed their Trade License. They said they have no intention of renewing my visa. In December, I found a job and asked them to cancel my visa but they requested me to stay until 15th January. My Visa expired on 20th January. but till now they haven`t canceled my visa, nor given me my December and January salaries and my gratuity. So I filed a complaint in labor. Landlord's non-acceptance of rent for 8 months. Can I face eviction?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, Rental Dispute - The management agency in my current apartment building has issued a verbal notice via a telephone call to all residents (in January 2024), asking to vacate the premises by 25 February 2024 citing that they`re planning a major renovation to the entire building. My contract had expired in June 2023. Despite multiple follow-ups (over email, I had told them I wanted to renew starting March 2023), they never responded to emails and delayed the renewal. I had come to know that there was an ongoing inheritance battle between the owner`s family which may have been the cause of delay. Please advise on the below: 1. As I have not paid any rent since June 2023 as they never accepted the cheques, can they issue an eviction notice based on non-payment of rent? 2. Would I have any legal recourse to fight this notice? 3. What is the overall timeline/expense for such rental dispute cases to be resolved? 4. The agent has insisted that the tenant will vacate the property in two months; however, the current owner has not served any notice to the tenant. I hired a contractor for works in my villa and failed in performing obligations. What can I do?
Q: Hi, I got an approved contractor in my villa for bathroom and kitchen work but he really failed to bring what he promised. The finishing is really really bad. Parts of the ceiling are falling down every few days. The kitchen is in a very bad shape, they used silicon to attach tiles instead of glue. Some doors fell off after a few times using, and some doors can’t even be opened because another door is blocking their way. The toilets are a total mess, some tiles are broken, the door frame got destroyed with the work so they took some glue and painted above, the bathroom tub is not fixed and can be moved. They closed one part of the walls with a tile without removing the window, they installed a fake wall in front but forgot to close the window, so the window is open from the outside but can’t be closed because of the new wall.
