Suing a salon for damages after a pedicure resulted in severe injury and distress
Q: Hello, I am wondering how I can sue or report a ladies` salon in Abu Dhabi for physical and emotional distress after a pedicure led to urgent care for a severe infection. I was prescribed antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medication, painkillers, and given an injection in my buttocks. I am now on crutches and unable to walk. A week after the pedicure, I underwent surgery to have my nail and skin surgically removed as a result. I spoke with the salon the day after my appointment when my foot swelled up and I went to the hospital. The technician refused to let me speak to the owner and begged me not to report her. I am extremely distressed and fed up, and I don’t want this to happen to anyone else. I have all my medical records, proof of payment to the salon, and WhatsApp messages between myself and the salon discussing my toe. What legal grounds do I have to sue the salon for damages? Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I was scammed by a car rental company that has not refunded my deposit for the past month. I believe they are fraudulents. Today, out of frustration, we had a heated argument on the phone, followed by verbal abuse during the next call. He claimed to have recorded it and said he would file a case. I want to know what the chances of a case are in this situation and what I should do. They are scammers for sure, but I’m concerned because he said he recorded the call and will raise a verbal abuse complaint.

Q: Hello, I am Christian and married to a Christian wife under Christian law in India (we are residents of the UAE). My wife has filed a case with the Personal Status Court for a travel ban to prevent my daughter from traveling with me. The reasons given are: - I have threatened to take the child to our home country and not return to the UAE, depriving the mother of her right to care for the child. - I have forcibly taken the child’s passport from her. Both points are false and defamatory. The judge, surprisingly, approved her request without consulting me. I have already responded legally, stating that these claims are false and requesting the case be dismissed, and I am awaiting the next step. 1. How can I file a case of libel to protect myself and my reputation? 2. Can I refuse any potential divorce proceedings in the UAE and continue such cases in India under Christian law? 3. Can I avoid any maintenance or alimony costs, as there are no valid grounds for divorce here?

Can a company fire me falsely claiming platform closure and withhold payments unfairly?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I joined a well-known and reputable company in June as an e-commerce sales executive. After three months, they fired me, citing the reason in my termination letter that they are closing their online platform. This claim is absolutely false, as the platform is still operational in the UAE. It feels completely unjust despite my hard work and proven sales record, once their platform was established, they simply terminated me. After my termination, they gave me an additional 30 days to find another job, stating they would not cancel my visa during this time, apart from the standard 14-day notice period. I recently spoke to a friend who was also terminated under similar circumstances. The company refused to pay him for no valid reason and deducted money from his dues as fines or penalties.

I have taken multiple measures, including blocking the company’s traffic file, bank accounts, and trade license, but the company has neither paid the dues nor responded. Finally, I requested the court to impose a travel ban on the company’s manager, which the court approved. However, the defendant has repeatedly requested the court to lift the travel ban, arguing that he is a local national and the case is against the company (an LLC), not him personally.
