How can I claim money I lent to my cousin to start business and is not returning back?
Q: My cousin who lives in Dubai took around AED 280000 from me on December 2023 for business and he told me that within one month he would return the money back with profits. Now it`s been almost a year he has not returned my money back. I have no written contract. The only proof I have is WhatsApp chats, videos, and voice messages of him that he received money from me and that he would return it back within one month. In August 2023 I told him that if you don`t return my money, then I would hire a lawyer and do a case. Then his father returned almost 20% of the amount back in August 2023 and told me the remaining amount I would receive from them by the end of November or December 2023. But now they are not giving me the money and telling me to go to the police or hire a lawyer, file a case do whatever I want to do. Kindly please advise me if hiring a lawyer in Dubai will be helpful or not. Will I be able to recover my money in Dubai in a legal way in such a case? أسئلة وأجوبة

Can personal assets be linked to an FZ LLC company case?
Q: Hello! I hope all is well. Long ago, there was a hotel where we placed our employees for an event. The event got canceled early by the government under a situation not under our control. We then simply paid for the number of nights we stayed. However, the agreement was for a longer duration. The event cancellation led to a three-year legal case where we had testimonials from the hotel itself, the government, and staff regarding this issue. The case was dismissed, and we won. However, they reapplied the case a year ago, and since then, we haven`t heard anything or received any notification. The judge gave them the right, and now we need to pay them over 100,000 AED. I`m worried that they can attack my personal assets since everything within the operation was done via an FZ LLC company. The case was dismissed thrice, but on the fourth attempt, it was accepted by the judge. What do I do now? Do I sell my house, or is my house safe since it`s under a mortgage by a bank? Q: Hi, I purchased a unit in July. I`ve requested Oqood several times to no avail. They responded that the registration will take time, and the delay is from DLD. I checked with DLD, and they informed me that no registration application had been made in my name. Additionally, when I purchased the unit, I was promised several things, including Golder Residency, and a flexible payment plan of (70/30), but that was all untrue. Furthermore, I realized that the developer provided their direct bank account rather than an Escrow account, which raised a red flag for me. The contract stated that the completion time is July 2024, but the construction progress is still under 20% as per the DLD website. I have the intention to cancel my SPA and request a refund.
