Can I dispute an RDC judgment against me for unpaid rent if I never received notice?
Q: Hello, I vacated the premises without informing the landlord, and it has come to my attention that the landlord filed a case against me at the RDC and won, with the judgment requiring me to pay rent and damages. However, I was not aware of this since the phone number and email address linked to my Emirates ID belonged to our company PRO, who failed to inform me. I have the following questions: 1. Can I dispute the claim that I was not aware of it since the email address and phone number that I use are different from the one on my Emirates ID? (Kindly note the 1 week for appealing after the RDC judgment has already passed) 2. If yes, then how and to whom can I file the dispute and on what basis can I file the dispute? 3. What actions can the landlord take against me, if he executes the judgment? 4. What happens if I do not pay the damages that the RDC has asked me to pay? Thanks!

An Addendum was made in which Party C was added and subcontracted all its work to both Party A and Party B, forming a wholly separate contract. There is an arbitration clause in the JV agreement. Can I charge my friend with breach of trust for not sending money from my property sale?
Q: Hello, I gave an online POA to my friend, who has a UAE residence visa, to sell my property. I gave another online POA to his brother to receive money on my behalf. I do not have a residence visa. They did not provide me with a copy of the POAs. He sold my property in JLT, and his brother received the money, but they did not send the money to me. Can I now open a case against them with the charge of "breach of trust" or any other charge that suits this case? Thanks a lot!

Can I enter the coutry without trouble if the bank got a travel ban for credit card debt?
Q: The bank issued a travel ban on me while I was outside the UAE due to the credit card outstanding amount of almost 90k. I don’t know what will happen if I go back to the UAE. Will I enter the country normally or will I be detained? They also requested to withdraw my passport.+7

What's more important: the tenancy contract or UAE rental laws on tenancy renewal?
Q: Hello, I hope you can advise me, please! I`m a tenant in Dubai. The owner/agency didn`t send me the rent increase notice 90 days in advance. It was sent to me on Thu, 18 Apr, 22:16. My lease expires on June 24, 2024. So it`s 78 days instead of 90. But they claim that in the signed contract there is a statement: "In the event that the tenant wishes to renew the lease at the end of the tenancy, they should notify the landlord in writing 90 days prior to the expiry date of the rental contract." Since I didn`t do this, they demand to increase my rent by the maximum amount possible as per RERA. As far as I can understand, according to the law, if no one notifies anyone before 90 days, the default is to extend the lease. So there is no increase. What is more important according to law, the signed contract, or UAE laws in this case? Thank you very much, hope you can advise and help me!

Q: Hello, Can anyone confirm to me if getting married in the UAE as part of a civil marriage is recognized/can be registered in India? I am an Australian citizen, marrying an Indian citizen (both with UAE residency). I would rather marry in a civil court in the UAE but understand this may not be valid in India. Can the payee of a cheque use a photo of a cheque I sent a picture of it on WhatsApp?
Q: Greetings, I shared a photo of a cheque with the payee for verification purposes only, not for deposit. Our WhatsApp communication has been clear on this. I recently found out that it may be possible to encash a cheque using a photo or printout instead of the original cheque… Now, I worry the person may actually deposit the cheque using the photo I shared. Is this possible or plausible, would this be a fraud? Should I preemptively block the cheque? The jurisdiction is Dubai. I still have the physical cheque in my possession.
