Q: Dear Sir/Madam, My husband started a company in my name and I signed several cheques on his behalf and a few of them bounced due to lack of funds. Now, I have 2 civil cases and a travel ban on me. Can my husband take up the responsibility of the cases legally and get me released from the cases and travel ban? He was doing all the operations and I was just an owner for the sake of name as he was employed in a private company during the time of the formation of the company.

If a tenant doesn't comply with a court judgment to vacate, what should I do?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I got a favorable judgment in a tenancy case where my tenant has been asked to move out and pay all fees and expenses. It does not specify a date. I understand that the tenant can appeal within 15 days. Should he not appeal, within how much time should he move? If he still does not move, then what should I do? While fees refer to court fees, do lawyer fees and incidental expenses form a part of the expenses?

Signing an agreement to confirm investment until the company license is issued
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I`m in the process of setting up a company, and I have an investor who will fund it. Until the company is officially formed, can I sign an agreement between myself and him as individuals to confirm his investment? Canceling visa and labor card for new job during ongoing labor case
Q: Dear Sir/Ma’am, I hope all is well with you, and I trust you can assist me in this situation. I was employed by a private company before I resigned, and my last working day was on September 30. The issue is that they do not want to cancel my employment and provide my gratuity and settlement. Additionally, my labor card expired on October 6, 2023; will I incur fines for this? I filed a court case last November, and its second hearing is scheduled for December 26. I have already obtained an NOC from Al Adheed Center. Recently, I received an offer letter from a free zone, and they are prepared to issue me an employment visa. My current visa is set to expire on December 26, 2023. Can I personally process the cancellation of my visa and labor card so that the Free Zone company can legally proceed on my behalf while my case is ongoing? Thank you!2023/12/12

Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I have filed a police report against someone who gave me a bounced cheque from a closed account. Until now, he has not been arrested. The police mentioned that he is not responding to their calls. Does that mean if he ignores the police calls, he will never be arrested? I don`t know his address. Is it mandatory to visit the CID in person to update my records?
Q: Respected Advisors, I have been involved in a few criminal cases since 2017, but all of them were cleared by this year. I have obtained release letters for all the cases from the public prosecution office through an online portal. Recently, I also received my residence visa. After the visa process was completed, I applied for a PCC online. However, the request was rejected. I contacted the 901 office, and they advised me to visit the CID. I arranged for a power of attorney to be granted along with all the necessary documents to update the system. Twice I was told to come in person, but I am hesitant to do so because of my previous negative experience. Could someone please advise me whether I must go in person or if the person holding the power of attorney can handle the process? Thank you!

Can landlords reconsider renting after issuing an evacuation notice?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, In terms of sending notice to tenants to vacate an apartment, as a landlord, we need to send a 12-month notice with the reason being either: - Wanting to move in ourselves (or our family members). - Selling the unit But what if, as landlords, after evacuation and a few days of evaluating the market or finding no customers to buy our property, we change our minds and want to rent the apartment again to someone else? Is this against the law? What if, for any reason, the landlord changes his/her mind to sell the apartment after evacuation? What do the regulations say?
