Q: Hi Sir, I would like to ask a question. In my contract, there is an additional addendum stating that I have to pay up to 5000 AED for the training in case I terminate my contract within 1 year. Now the question is, I'm already 6 months in service. Do I have to pay that even though the company did not provide any training for me? I was told that my end-of-service gratuity will be compared vs. annual bonus payments during my employment and since my start of service to see from which I have received the most benefit. How legitimate is this in accordance with the UAE Law? Any bonus payments over the years and the end-of-service gratuity is free-standing, correct? Thanks
