Q: Greetings,
I shared a photo of a cheque with the payee for verification purposes only, not for deposit. Our WhatsApp communication has been clear on this.
I recently found out that it may be possible to encash a cheque using a photo or printout instead of the original cheque…
Now, I worry the person may actually deposit the cheque using the photo I shared.
Is this possible or plausible, would this be a fraud?
Should I preemptively block the cheque?
The jurisdiction is Dubai.
I still have the physical cheque in my possession.

أعيش في دبي وأدعم ماليًا أحد أصدقائي (الذي يدير شركة استشارات القوى العاملة في ديرة) اعتبارًا من مارس 2020 وحتى هذا التاريخ. الآن وصل المبلغ الإجمالي أكثر من 275000 درهم (175000 درهم + 2500000 روبية هندية) تقريبًا.
أستمر في مطالبته بإعادة المبلغ كاملاً لكنه لا يعيده. إنه يطلب دائمًا مزيدًا من الوقت لإعادته لكنه لا يلتزم بالموعد ولا يعيد المبلغ.
من فضلك، هل يخبرني أحد إذا قمت بتقديم شكوى للشرطة عليه في دبي، هل سأستعيد أموالي؟ أو ما هو نوع الإجراء الذي ستتخذه شرطة دبي؟

صديقي عليه بالفعل قضايا لدى الشرطة في دبي لعدم دفع إيجار منزله، وقضايا شيكات مرتجعة...
مؤخرًا، في 27 يونيو 2022، قبضت عليه الشرطة ولكن لا أعرف أين هو الآن وفي أي قضية قبض عليه.

Hello,
I had a case regarding fraud by technical means, and we did a tanazul.
It was attested and submitted to the court, but the case still hasn’t been dropped and is now with the public prosecution.
What do I do now, as I need to travel urgently?

How can we claim our money back if the cheque we received have bounced for insufficient funds?
We received a cheque which has now bounced. We have tried for over a month and a half now to get a new cheque from the person, and every day he says the next day.
We need the money now. We have been to the police station, and they said they can not do anything as the reason the cheque bounced is "Insufficient funds."
We have been to Al Barsha - Dubai Courts, and they said there is nothing they can do about it.
We are not sure what we can do. We need the money asap to pay our kids' school fees, let alone all the interest we have lost.

Hello
I joined my new company on February 26, 2025. Upon joining the new company, I asked HR if it was free to join the company, and she said yes.
After working with them for 1 month, I experienced a salary delay, and I had to go to the office to ask why there was a delay in my salary.
That is when the HR told me she deducted my whole salary to recover the transfer fee.
Now my question is, who is supposed to pay for the transfer fee, the employee or the employer?
