The company contract states that no overtime payment will be made. Is this legal?
Hi,
My company closed and terminated everyone and is willing to pay for a 14-day notice period, but not willing to pay overtime which is more than 50 hours.
Its contract states: "Overtime work may be required in peak periods to meet deadlines, and this may in some cases include weekends and public holidays. No overtime payment will be made."
Isn’t having such statements in the contract against the law, as the law states differently?
How can I go about this?

According to UAE labor law, overtime working hours do not exceed two hours per day, which means total working hours shall not exceed one hundred and forty-four hours every three weeks.
If it requires to work on weekend days and public holidays, he shall be compensated with another day of rest, or he shall be paid the remuneration of that day according to the remuneration prescribed for normal working days, plus an increase of not less than 50% of the basic salary for that day.
If it's violated, file a complaint in MOHRE.
