Q: Hi, A finance company had filed a police case against me. I have settled my credit at the police station and paid the fines. Do I still need to repay the credit card? And how will I know if I still have a police case?

Q: I have a small company of 4 people. One of my oldest staff who has worked for 11 years is leaving. He handles 80% of my clients and work. Without proof, I know he is going to open his firm. I don`t want to harm him but I want to secure my clients. Is it legally okay for me to make him sign a contract that he cannot approach my clients in the near future? If yes, then what will be the procedure? Do I have to go to the notary to make this contract valid?

Q: My friend is telling me that everything is now connected with the Emirates ID. And once it is cancelled or your visa is cancelled, all connected banks will get a notification, and the bank will cross-check in their system regarding that person`s dues, fines, loans. If they found it, they will take immediate action in order to stop that person from leaving the UAE, is this true? Is there any reality in this fact? I do not have any loan, I am paying my monthly minimum credit card payment. Does the credit card bank get to know that I am leaving because my visa/emirates ID is now cancelled? Will they stop me at the airport?

Working for a less salary in the probation period

Q: Hello, Is it legal to have a lower salary during the probation period and a higher after passing probation? (it is a hidden way of making the employee pay for visa). Also, is it legal to ask a future employee, not on their visas to produce work for them (without salary)? Thank you Regards R.

Q: Hi, I am living in the UAE. I am an Indian national. I have a credit card. I do not have any loan and I also do not have any EMI to pay but I have 25000 AED due to pay for my credit card. When my company transfers my final salary and end-of-service benefits to my bank, will the bank freeze my bank account and file a case that I have pending 25000 AED, and will the police stop me at the airport? س: مرحبًا، أنا مواطن من دولة عربية وعملت في دبي. أثناء عملي سجلوني بالشركة بصفة مدير عام ومفوّض بالتوقيع مع تثبيت اسمي على رخصة الشركة. علمًا بأن الشركة ذات مسؤولية محدودة. خلال تلك الفترة وقّعت على شيكات وتم صرفها من قبل المستفيدين ولكن بعد ذلك قدمت استقالتي وألغيت إقامتي في الإمارات وقدمت طلب إلغاء اسمي من رخصة الشركة بصفة مدير عام. بقي شيك واحد من الموقَّع عليهم غير مصروف وهو 21 ألف درهم بدل إيجار مكتب. لم يُصرَف الشيك من البنك بسبب عدم وجود الرصيد لصرفه؛ علمًا بأنني غادرت البلاد في هذه الفترة وألغيت إقامتي ولكن استغرقت الشركة 4 أشهر لإلغاء اسمي من الرخصة واستبداله بمدير آخر. كما أنه هناك شيكات أخرى أصدرتها الشركة مُوقَّعة من مفوِّض آخر بالتوقيع ولم تُصرَف حتى الآن. من الواضح أن الشركة عليها التزامات مالية أخرى ولم يتمكن الشركاء من حلها. علمًا بأن الشركة قد أغلقت دون إعلان إفلاس. أرغب في الاستفسار عن الالتزام القانوني بحقي بخصوص الشيك الموقَّع وأي التزامات قانونية أخرى مترتبة على الشركة وارتباطي بها. في حال سفري إلى السعودية أو أي من دول الخليج، هل يترتب على ذلك أي ملاحقة؟
