س: كيف يمكنني أن أرفع دعوى قضائية على شخص لإثبات نسب ابنه بعد مرور 18 سنة؟ المشكلة أن الأب الأصلي بريطاني الجنسية ويتواجد في بريطانيا، و يرفض التواصل معنا (جميع الأدلة موجودة على أن الزواج صحيح وعلى أنه ابنه). ماذا أفعل أرجوكم؟

Consequences of resigning during probation period

Q: I am in a Skill Category 1 corporate role in Dubai, on a 2-year limited contract. My probation period is 6 months. If I want to leave my current role WITHIN the 6-month probation period for another role at a different organization (similar role, but more pay, better/larger organization, better future prospects). What will be the consequences with my current employer`s side or from the UAE government? Also, how much notice would I have to give? And is there a possibility of a ban of any sort? My current employer has paid for my relocation from abroad and also all my visa expenses.

Initiating legal action for dental malpractice and negligence

Q: Hi, In June 2016, I had too much pain in my tooth and I went to a renowned hospital in Abu Dhabi and did the root canal treatment. After the treatment, I had pain several times in the same area but last week I again had too much pain and it`s unbearable. So I went and checked with another dentist in another hospital. And after the X-ray, we found out that the last RCT that was done in June 2016 was very bad. There was a broken instrument in my tooth and because of that I have a serious infection and I need to go for dental extraction and dental implant afterwards. It`s a case of medical negligence and I would like to file a case. Can you please advise me what would be better for me? Thanks and waiting for your kind reply.

Forcing the employee to accept a reduced salary

Q: My previous employer is a private company and I worked with them for 1 year and a half on an unlimited contract. My previous employer has forced on me a salary reduction which I didn`t agree to and no letter was signed. Due to not agreeing to this salary reduction, I was forced to transfer almost half of my combined salary from months of Feb 2018 to June 2018 or else lose my job. Afraid to lose my job and under this threat I had to transfer almost half of my salary to the employer. I want to claim back all the salary that was wrongfully taken from me. I have bank statement proof that showed the amount that was transferred from my account to the employer in July 2018, and starting July 2018 payroll I was getting the reduced salary. I also have my previous labour contract that states my monthly salary. 1- What are my options? 2- Would I be able to claim all the deducted salary if I provide the court with the evidence?

Q: What is a housewife entitled to? I have been married for almost 8 years. I am on husband residence visa. My husband is not allowing me to work. I tried many times to convince him and he disagrees. However, he is not providing me with any money. He just pays the house, bills and food. I can`t remember when he gave me one dirham for my personal things. التأكُّد من وجود إبعاد ومعرفة مدته وكيفية التصرُّف تجاهه

س: السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته، كنت فى الإمارات منذ 5 سنوات وصدر ضدي إبعاد ولكن لا أعرف مدته، حيث تقدم كفيلي ببلاغ ضدي بسبب العمل لدى كفيل آخر. عدت إلى مصر بعد أن سُجنت لمدة شهرين وصدر ضدي إبعاد، ومنذ 3 أشهر تقدمت للحصول على زيارة ورُفضت. ما الحل؟ أريد أن أعرف مدة الإبعاد؟ وهل هو قائم بالفعل أم لا؟ أرجو الإفادة!

Procedures for receiving passport from the court

Q: My company PRO consulted somebody for permission to run the plant on a generator set. The person he consulted brought permission from the municipality. I showed the document to SEWA people to allow us to run the plant on the generator, which they denied. I reported the same to the municipality where they found that the document was forged. The municipality reported the case to the police. I have submitted the statement and given all the details of the persons involved in that. The police called later and asked me to report to the police station in Sharjah with my passport. There again they have taken my statement and passport. Currently, the culprits who were involved in making duplicate document are in jail and my passport is still with the court. Kindly guide me on how I can have my passport released from the court. Q: Hello there, I was working for a company in Jebel Ali Free Zone since 2011 as a senior sales manager. I was asked to resign due to the company not performing well. I resigned. Now, after 3 months I have a job offer in another Jebel Ali free zone company. I had signed a standard JAFZA non compete agreement in 2011. I have told my former employer through emails where I am joining and I have received no objection from them verbally and a firm no objection through SMS from the signatory authority of the company. They are dodging giving the letter. Will it be a problem for me in the future?

Q: Hi, I am now in the UAE. My employer has already processed my working visa. I have my emirates ID card with me from my employer. The problem is I have been waiting for 4 months for my date of joining, called the HR many times but they cannot give me a clear answer. Anything I can do? My contract with them is a limited contract. It has been 4 months since the issuance of my visa. Actually I am tired of waiting. Will I be receiving any compensation for what they are doing?
