Asking an employee to pay for visa costs to get his passport after resignation
Q: Hello, My employer doesn`t pay my salary on time. I had personal problems, stress, and migraine. When I had to go to a hospital, I didn`t have money for that so I took 2 days off after informing HR and the manager. The next day I managed to get money from friends and went to the hospital. After that, I took a medical certificate and urgent resignation letter because of mental stress. They asked me to pay for the visa so I can take my passport. Of course, I don`t have money and didn`t get 1 month`s salary. Now they filed absconding against me. What should I do? And I was on a 6 months probation period. المستثمر يطلب إخلاء الشقة بدون إنذار لتسليمها للمالك. ما العمل؟
س: السلام عليكم، أسكن في شقة بالإيجار في بيت شعبي بمدينة العين بعقد إيجار غير قابل للتوثيق عن طريق مستثمر للبيت الشعبي. المستثمر طلب إخلاء الشقة بدون إنذار أو إشعار كاف بحجة رغبته في تسليم العقار للمالك. طلبت مهلة كافية تمكنني من البحث عن سكن بديل ومناسب، نظرًا لوجود طلاب في مدارس، فلم أعثر على الشقة المناسبة حتى الآن. فوجئت بالمالك يرفع دعوى مستعجلة لا يعترف فيها بعقد الاستثمار ولا بعقد الإيجار بيني وبين المستثمر ويعتبر وجودي تعديًا طالبًا من المحكمة أمرًا بالإخلاء الفوري. سؤالي للأستاذ المحامي: كيف أرد على هذه الدعوى؟ وشكرًا!

How to make sure if a job offer is valid and not a scam?
Q: The employer had sent me an offer letter and now asking me to contact the visa agency and pay all my visa fees and everything. It`s from a very big oil and gas firm and I am not sure how is it possible that a billion $ company can ask employees to do this experience. I left an unpaid credit card. How to check if I have a case against me?
Q: Good Day! I left an unpaid credit card loan of AED 3,000 in Dubai last 2019 (My credit limit is 5,000). Since 2016, I had my card deactivated & just paid the minimum monthly till 2019. I was laid off from work & so I did not pay the balance. As far as I remember, I did not give a security cheque to the bank. Will they still file a case against me? The landlord/real estate agent is not returning the PDC after termination. What to do?
Q: Hi esteemed lawyers of the UAE, I recently moved out of my apartment with a pre-termination of the lease as my wife got pregnant and I needed a bigger house. As per their rules, I paid 2-month rent as a penalty. Now, the landlord/real estate agent is not returning the PDC I gave for future rent payments. They are saying that the amount of these cheques will be settled along with my security deposit for all the damages I have done to the flat. Knowing that they have my cheques, they have made a botched inspection report showing "damages" of over AED 5000 and now blackmailing me that we have your cheques so we will encash them if you don`t pay 5000 to us. The cheques were issued for the sole reason of rent payment. Can they encash the same cheques for damage compensation? What is my legal option in this case? I am under great stress right now.
