Q: Hello Sir, I was working for a company in Abu Dhabi for 8 months. Due to some emergency at my home, I took an emergency leave. After that, I was unable to come back to the UAE. Now, it's more than 6 months, I didn't return to the UAE. I am having a resident visa valid till March 2019. Is it possible to come to the UAE with a new visa for a visit or for working with another company?  

Q: I was working in one company which is in Hamriyah Free Zone. My visa is stamped on 10 June 2018. I went on emergency leave on 12 Oct, and since then I have not returned to work. I have sent a resignation email on 22 Nov through email and requested to proceed for visa cancellation. But nobody has responded back to me. I am still out of the UAE. Can you please advise me?

Q: Good afternoon, I hold a valid UAE employee visa (issued in Dubai). I have not been to the UAE for over 6 months. I am currently attempting to cancel the visa through MOHRE, as the owner of the company has left the country and has not been responsive. Additionally, the trade license has expired. Is it possible for me to be in transit in the UAE, specifically within the airport's transit zone? Can I seek employment in Qatar before my UAE visa is canceled? I prefer to avoid unnecessary expenditures of time and money and can't be more unemployed. Thank you.

This Decree sets the rules and conditions for the termination of fixed-term (limited) or unlimited (not term-bound) employment contract between employer and worker in the United Arab Emirates.

The provisions of this Decree-Law, known as "New UAE Labor Law", govern labour relations in the private sector of the United Arab Emirates. The New Labor Law repeals the previous UAE Labor Law (Federal Law No. (8) of 1980).
