Welcome,

This can be done by requesting leave from your manager, who will be the one to grant you leave if possible.

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your query regarding taking 15 days of leave immediately after the completion of your probation period in the UAE.

As per the UAE Labour Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021), employees are eligible to accrue annual leave after completing six months of service, at a rate of two days per month.

However, while you may apply for leave after probation, its approval depends on your accrued leave balance and is ultimately subject to your employer’s discretion.

If your leave balance is insufficient, any additional days may be granted as unpaid leave, again based on employer approval.

To assess your specific situation in detail, including your employment contract terms and accrued leave, it would be best to schedule a consultation. We can then provide tailored legal advice and assist you in structuring your leave request in compliance with UAE labour regulations.

Please let us know a suitable time to proceed.

Best regards,

According to Federal Decree Law No. 33 of 2021 regarding the regulation of employment relationships, employees become entitled to annual leave after completing six months of continuous service.

For employees who have completed more than six months but less than one year of service, the entitlement is typically two days of leave for each month of service completed.

Your company's internal leave policy might be more generous than the law and could grant you leave sooner or at a higher accrual rate.

Check your employment contract and the company's HR policies.

If you need further clarification, you may ask.

An employee is entitled to paid annual leave of no less than 30 days per year, after completing 12 months of service.

If the employee has not completed a full year, he or she is entitled to leave equal to the amount of time he or she has completed during the year, calculated as a percentage of the total.

Dear Questioner,

According to the law, you are entitled to take annual leave after completing your probation period. However, traveling during this time is only permitted if approved by the company or your manager.

Without such approval, you may only formally request vacation after completing one full year of service, just six months. Therefore, at this stage, you may only travel once you receive company authorization.
