My employer in Dubai is asking me to conduct a GAMCA medical test from India. Is this the usual procedure?

My employer in Dubai is asking me to conduct a GAMCA medical test from India and then get visa stamping done from the UAE embassy in Delhi myself.

Is this the usual procedure?

Usually, all of this takes place after one enters the UAE.

Also, I have received my employment contract. The status is under process.

Is everything correct?

Hello,

Usually, the GAMCA medical test is done in the UAE once you arrive, especially for most workers who are coming to the UAE on employment visas.

This is because the UAE government handles the medical process through its own approved medical centers, and the results are automatically linked to your visa application in the UAE.

Some employers request this step in the home country if the job is urgent, or if they are trying to avoid delays in processing once you reach the UAE.

Dear Questioner,

Thank you for reaching out with your query regarding the medical test and visa stamping process for your employment in the UAE.

Regarding your inquiry:

GAMCA Medical Test: It is not uncommon for employers to request that you complete the GAMCA medical test in your home country before traveling to the UAE, especially for workers in specific industries or roles.

This can streamline the process and allow your employer to proceed with the visa application sooner.

While many employers conduct the medical test after the employee arrives in the UAE, your employer’s request is still a valid approach, and the procedure you are following is acceptable under UAE law.

Visa Stamping in Delhi: Typically, the visa stamping process is handled by the employer in the UAE once the required documents and medical tests are completed.

However, it is not unusual for employers to ask the employee to handle the visa stamping themselves at the UAE embassy in Delhi.

This may be a process preferred by your employer or one that simplifies the overall visa issuance.

Please ensure you have all necessary documents, including the medical test result, contract, and any instructions from your employer regarding the visa stamping procedure.

Employment Contract and Visa Status: The fact that you have received the employment contract and your status is listed as “under process” indicates that your employer is processing the necessary work permit and residence visa.

Once your work permit is approved, you will be able to proceed with the visa stamping, and any outstanding procedures will be completed.

Next Steps:

Confirm with your employer: It is advisable to confirm any additional steps or documentation required for the visa stamping process at the UAE embassy in Delhi.

Complete the GAMCA test: Proceed with scheduling and completing the GAMCA medical test at an approved center in India.

Check visa stamping requirements: Ensure you have all required documents ready for the UAE embassy in Delhi to avoid delays.

If you need any further assistance with the process or have additional questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Best regards,

Mohammed Salah

While the GAMCA medical is often done in the home country, the visa stamping process can vary.

Typically, after the medical clearance and other required documents are processed, the employer in the UAE handles the visa stamping process.

While the request for you to handle the visa stamping yourself is somewhat unusual, it doesn't automatically mean something is wrong.

You may verify the legitimacy of the employment contract. If you need further clarification you may ask.

Greetings,

The standard UAE employment visa process typically involves medical tests after arriving in the UAE. However, for certain categories of workers, employers may request a GAMCA medical test in India before visa issuance.

Regarding visa stamping in Delhi, this is not a common practice for standard employment visas, as stamping usually occurs upon entry into the UAE.

Since your employment contract is still under process, it is crucial to verify if your employer is following the correct legal procedures.

To ensure compliance with UAE regulations and avoid potential issues, we recommend booking a consultation with Future Vision for Advocacy and Legal Consultancy for expert legal guidance.

Your concern is valid. Typically, for employment in Dubai, the medical fitness test (including GAMCA, if applicable) is conducted in the UAE after arrival.

The employer usually handles visa processing, including medical tests, Emirates ID registration, and visa stamping.

However, some companies request medical tests in advance as part of pre-visa requirements.

As for visa stamping through the UAE embassy in Delhi, this is not the usual practice for standard employment visas issued in Dubai.

The process generally involves your employer applying for the work permit through MOHRE, followed by your entry permit and further procedures inside the UAE.

Since your employment contract is marked as “under process,” it’s important to verify that it is being processed through official UAE government channels.

There have been instances where companies ask employees to handle visa formalities themselves, which could be a red flag.

To ensure that everything is legitimate and compliant with UAE labor laws, I recommend reviewing your contract and the steps your employer is asking you to follow.

Feel free to reach out to me on WhatsApp or phone, and I’ll guide you on the right approach to protect your rights.
