Dear Questioner,

You can submit a request to the Public Prosecution to recover the items seized by the police. If the request is rejected, the request must be submitted to the court.

Hello,

If your brother’s belongings, such as his wallet, Emirates ID, driving licence, debit card, and mobile phone, are still with the police or public prosecution after his release on bail, it is essential to determine whether these items are being held as evidence in the case.

If they have been seized because they are considered relevant to the investigation or as potential tools or evidence of the crime, their release will likely require official approval.

You should begin by contacting the public prosecution handling your brother’s case. You may submit a formal request to release the seized items, explaining that these items are personal belongings and are not directly relevant to the ongoing investigation.

If the public prosecution refuses to release the items, it might indicate that they have been formally seized as part of the case.

In this situation, you can check whether there is a written order for the seizure and if the items are part of the evidence list. Depending on the case's progress, the return of these items may only be possible after the court issues its final verdict.

In the meantime, you may request certified copies of documents such as the Emirates ID or driving license if they are essential for your brother’s daily activities.

Dear Questioner,

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the recovery of your brother’s belongings, including his wallet and cell phone, which have been seized by the police or public prosecution.

To assist you in recovering these items, I recommend the following steps:

1. Contact the Relevant Authorities

Reach out to the police station or the public prosecution office handling your brother's case. Provide them with the details of the seizure, including your brother’s case number and the list of items that were seized (e.g., wallet, cell phone, Emirates ID, driver’s license, debit card, etc.).

Inquire about the specific procedure for the return of these items.

2. Submit a Formal Request for the Return of Property

In some cases, a formal written request may be required. This request should include:

- Your brother’s details (name, case number, and contact information).

- A detailed list of the seized items.

- A request for the return of these items. Please ensure you follow up with the authorities regularly to track the progress of your request.

3. Verify if the Items Are Needed as Evidence

It’s important to confirm whether the seized items are being held as evidence for the investigation or ongoing legal proceedings.

If this is the case, the authorities will advise when the items can be returned. If the items are no longer needed for the case, they should be returned to your brother or to a designated representative.

4. Address Potential Delays or Disputes

If the return of the items is delayed or if there are complications, you may need to request a hearing with the public prosecution or the court to seek the return of the belongings.

In such cases, I can assist you with the legal process and represent you in discussions with the relevant authorities.

If you encounter any difficulties or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am happy to help facilitate the recovery of these items.

Best regards,

Dear Client,

Thanks for your question! I hope you are doing well. I will assist you in this matter.

To recover your brother's seized items (wallet, cell phone, Emirates ID, driving license, debit card, etc.) from UAE police or public prosecution, submit a "Request to receive trusts and reservations" to the Public Prosecution.

Ensure a decision to return items has been issued and there's no confiscation order in effect. Log in with UAE Pass or create an account on the relevant authority's website, pay the required fee (typically AED 20), and attach the necessary documents.

The process usually takes one working day. In Abu Dhabi, use the ADJD website to "Request to repossess seized items", while in Dubai, the Public Prosecution offers a service for obtaining a certificate about seized items.

Make sure all legal proceedings related to your brother's case are concluded before requesting item recovery. If you encounter any difficulties, consult with us.

If you need further clarification or additional support, you can contact us via WhatsApp. We are dedicated to providing professional, timely, and comprehensive assistance tailored to your situation.

Thank you!

Greetings of the day,

Be polite and cooperative when dealing with the police and prosecution.

Essential items like the Emirates ID and driving license are typically returned unless they are crucial evidence in the case.

If there are delays or disputes, escalate the issue by filing a complaint.

Best regards,

Hello,

You should first reach out to the police station where your brother was held or where his belongings were taken.

In many cases, belongings are kept at the station until the legal proceedings are concluded or the case is closed.

If the items are under the custody of the public prosecution, you will need to contact them to find out the procedure for retrieving the items.

They will provide information on whether the items can be released or if there is any pending investigation involving them.
