Estimated time to be arrested upon a bounced cheque notification

Hi,

I got a text message from Dubai Police stating the following:

'The holder of ID n°xxxx has been circulated. The concerned person is kindly requested to refer to Jebel Ali police station as soon as possible.'

What does that mean, do I have to call the police station and do I have time until Sunday to do this?

Please advise if possible.

Thanks

 E.

Hi dear,

It means that someone submitted a complaint against you. The police need you for investigation.

So may I ask you if you did any crime before, such as signing a cheque or other documents, or if u have any disputes with someone else.

My advice for you to not go right now until you know why they need you.

Good morning,

Thank you for your answer. Yes, I think I know what is it for, a bounced cheque.

But I don’t have the money yet. So what will be the next step the police will do? Will they call me or come to my house?

I would like to understand if I have some time left to try and solve things before I go to the police or they will come to my house looking for me.

It’s a bit stressful. Thanks for your help

Yes, sure it’s stressful.

Usually, the police add your name to the wanted list so you can’t travel or drive your car, but may I ask how much the cheque amount is?

The amount is more than 300k, so it’s high.

Do you think they will come to my house and will I have time to collect the money?

I would prefer to try to get the amount before going to the police but don’t know what they will do or what the procedure is.

I really don’t want to go there without money. Please advise from your experience.

Thank you

As I told you that you will be wanted, it means all options are available.

Anyway, if you pay a part of the amount, maybe your case will finish with a verdict of fine only.

You should also have proof for that.

Ok, thank you for your reply.

I hope I will have some time to find a solution.
