Q: 1) Since the company is a semi-government entity based in Abu Dhabi, can I challenge the unfair spot termination decision and get 3 months salary (per month salary was AED 7000) and other benefits?
2) Can I claim all my living costs (house rent, bills, car rental, food, telephone, travel/ fuel etc) after notice period finished date i.e. 26 April 2017 as per termination letter (21 days till 17 May 2017 and could end up more weeks)?
3) The termination letter was handed over on 29 March 2017 and last working day was same day but as per termination letter my last working day would be considered as 26 April (that is a difference of 3 days unpaid?)
4) As per my clear instructions to my team to report all necessary matters but in this case, everyone failed to report me and even many Rental Agents kept on renting this vehicle with a low tire pressure sign on the dashboard.
5) Shall I approach the labour court in Abu Dhabi or civil court considering my visa from immigration?

Resignation and compensation upon misunderstanding regarding job description

Q: Hi,
I joined a DMCC company 1 month ago and there is a misunderstanding between me and my employer with respect to my job description which I clearly told them that I cannot do.
The company is asking me to resign and pay an amount of AED 15000 for my visa and medical flight charges, etc in spite of holding my salary. They are also asking me to submit my passport, otherwise, they will take legal action.
Should I compensate them if I wish to resign?

Q: Hi,
I used to work in a company (clinic) as an account manager. In August, the employer terminated my contract orally and I acknowledged the termination via email.
On 13 Sept 2021, my visa was supposed to be canceled but they requested me for one more day and I agreed. So on the 14th, they canceled my visa. Before cancellation, I received my final settlement.
I joined a new company and I am currently employed by the new company and my status has been changed. The ex-employer offered me a couple of times to come back but I refused.
Now they are aggressive and they are pushing me to go back to the office as there are some issues in the accounts.
I would like to know what should I do in this situation, as my ex-employer is really giving me a headache. I will appreciate your help.

Psychological pressure over an employee to resign. What should he do?

Q: Hello,
My question is about verbal abuse and psychological pressure over an employee with the final goal to push the employee to resign.
That continued for nearly a year and resulted in serious health issues. The person resigned and is still not able to go back to work due to poor health which resulted from the continued mental pressure and stress for a period of almost a year.
What can the employee do against such injustice as per the new law?

Illegal pressure and retention of passport by the employer

Q: Dear Sir/’adam,
My two-year contract ends on June 12th, 2023. I submitted a request for marriage leave from March 1st to April 10th, with plans to return on April 11th, but management denied my request due to the contract period, even though I have 20 days of paid leave remaining.
The management is now pressuring me to renew my contract and go on vacation or resign from the job in order for them to find a replacement.
They are also holding my passport.
Please advise!
