All cities, UAE

Will you get detained at Dubai Airport if you have a case and have transit with the same airlines?

We would like to thank all participants for their invaluable input.

We have a very specific question regarding connecting through Dubai in case of a probable court case/police case in the UAE.

Does it make a difference if connecting from an Emirates flight to another Emirates flight without passing through immigration as opposed to connecting between different airlines in which case there is a possibility of passing through immigration, especially between different terminals?

We would appreciate a clear and specific answer to this pertinent question.

Thank you

Dear C.,

Thanks for your inquiry.

According to UAE law, if a person is connecting through Dubai without passing through immigration, they are not considered to have entered the country and are not subject to the laws and regulations of the UAE.

However, if a person is connecting between different airlines and has to pass through immigration, they are considered to have entered the country and are subject to the laws and regulations of the UAE.

This means that if there is a court case or police case against the person in the UAE, they may be detained or arrested upon arrival.

It is important to note that the UAE has strict laws and regulations, and it is always best to avoid any potential legal issues while in the country.

If you have any concerns, it is recommended to seek legal advice before traveling to the UAE.

Kindly feel free to contact us by phone or email for any further inquiries.

Greetings,

Thank you for reaching out with your question regarding connecting through Dubai and the potential legal implications, especially in the context of court or police cases in the UAE.

In response to your inquiry, the process of connecting flights in Dubai, whether between Emirates flights or different airlines, does have certain implications regarding immigration procedures and potential interaction with authorities.

When connecting between Emirates flights without passing through immigration, you remain within the secure transit area of the airport, which typically does not involve encountering immigration or customs formalities.

This means there is no direct interaction with UAE authorities during this transit process.

However, when connecting between different airlines or terminals, there is a possibility of passing through immigration, depending on the specific arrangements and requirements of the connecting airlines and the layout of the airport.

In such cases, passengers may be required to go through immigration and customs procedures, which could potentially involve interaction with UAE authorities.

It's important to note that while connecting through Dubai, passengers are subject to UAE laws and regulations, and any legal matters would be handled according to the applicable laws of the UAE.

Therefore, it's advisable to be aware of the legal implications and to proceed with caution, especially if there are concerns about potential court or police cases in the UAE.

For a more detailed discussion and personalized advice based on your specific circumstances, I would be happy to schedule a consultation to address your concerns and provide you with the guidance you need.

Please feel free to reach out to me via WhatsApp or phone to further discuss your situation and explore how I can assist you.
