Dear querist,

According to UAE law, debt collectors are required to follow certain guidelines and restrictions set by the UAE Central Bank.

They are not allowed to contact the employee at their workplace if the employee has explicitly requested them not to do so.

If a debt collector violates guidelines, the employee has the right to file a complaint with relevant authorities.

We can certainly help you in this matter. Kindly reach us by phone for more information.

Dear questioner.

There is nothing in the law that prevents debt collectors from contacting the workplace or elsewhere, as long as they have a power of attorney from the creditor to do so.

No, it is generally not legal for debt collectors to contact your workplace in the UAE when you have defaulted on a payment.

You can file a complaint with the Central Bank of the UAE if the debt collector has indeed contacted your workplace inappropriately.
