Questions & Answers
Can people be added to a property title deed after signing, or on the same day?
Hi,
I want to know if I can add people to a property title deed after signing it, or even include them on the day we sign the title deed.
Thanks!
Dear Questioner,
According to UAE laws, amending the property deed to add people after signing is possible, but it is not done directly by amending the deed itself. There are two main ways to achieve this:
1. Sale with the right of redemption (legal mortgage):
This Islamic method of financing allows the seller to repurchase the property within a specified period of time. By listing an additional person as a co-seller with a right of redemption, that person can later be added to the title deed upon repurchase.
2. Gift deed:
A gift deed allows a property owner to transfer ownership of part of the property to another person. This can be done after the initial purchase to add other people to the title deed.

Dear Questioner,
Yes, you can add people to a property title deed in the UAE, even after you've signed the initial document.
You might need an NOC from the current owner(s) on the title deed, signifying their consent for adding new names.
The process typically involves application through the DLD (in Dubai) or the relevant Land Department authority in your Emirate.
Kindly share your WhatsApp number if you need further clarification.

The Sale and Purchase Agreement must have the names of all buyers and sellers.
The names of all buyers must be added to the agreement. The title deed is generated based on the sale and purchase agreement.
