Can an immigration overstay fine be waived after the travel ban is lifted?

Hello,

Advise me, please!

I have an overstay fine in Dubai immigration. I got it because of the travel ban I had from August 2023 till March 2024.

Currently, the travel ban has been removed and I would like to know if there is any way to remove the overstay fine.

Thanks for your help!

Dear Questioner,

Submit a petition to the General Administration of Residency and Foreigners Affairs for exemption from fines.

Dear Client,

Thanks for your question! I hope you are doing well. I will assist you in this matter.

If your travel ban has been lifted, you can approach the Dubai immigration authorities to inquire about the possibility of waiving or reducing the overstay fine.

Explain your situation and provide any relevant documentation, such as proof of the travel ban being lifted.

Thanks for your reply!

Actually, I called the Amer Center. They informed me that I need to purchase an airline ticket at least 30 days in advance, and they can only reduce the fine, not remove it entirely. Is it really the case? Perhaps I misunderstood them?

Dear Questioner,

Yes, you can request to waive this overstay fine imposed on you. The request has to be submitted to the immigration authority through Amer centers.

If you want, we can submit the same on behalf of you. Share your WhatsApp number for further discussion.

It can be reduced to an extent, not fully.
