Is a tenancy contract without Ejari valid?

Dear Sir/Madam,

Is a tenancy contract without Ejari valid?

If so, why is the RDC not accepting our case for eviction and suggesting that we go through the Civil Court?

What is the tentative timeline to obtain a final verdict on eviction through the civil court?

Dear Questioner,

It will not be accepted to register a rental claim without a certified rental contract, which is called Ejari.

Dear Client,

Thanks for your question! I hope you are doing well. I will assist you in this matter.

Tenancy contracts without Ejari registration are not considered valid in the UAE. The Rental Dispute Center (RDC) may redirect cases involving unregistered contracts to the Civil Court for resolution.

Eviction cases through the Civil Court can take several months to a year or more for a final verdict.

Hello,

The registration in Ejari is not required in the lease to prove the tenancy relationship or to file a case before the RDC.

In any case, the RDC is the competent authority, without exception, if the relationship is tenancy and the conditions are met.
