Criminal case for missing credit card payments
Hello,
I have a problem with the bank regarding credit cards for Najm. My total amount is AED 14000. I'm delayed in payment for 2 months.
Now, they are saying that they will file a police case in Buhaira police station in Sharjah and I don' t have the money to pay.
I need to know what's the process exactly at the police station and whether there is imprisonment or just a fine according to the latest legal decree.

They have the right to file a case against you at the police station. In this situation, your name will be on the blacklist until you pay the fine imposed under your name.
In case your name is on the blacklist, you cannot travel outside the UAE because you may be arrested.
Even if you pay the fine and obtain the release, the bank can open a civil case against you.
I would suggest you reach a settlement with the bank, paying monthly a small amount instead of having future problems here.
