Questions & Answers
Can car lift companies prevent me from switching between them?
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am using the services of a car lift "A" company, and the services they provide are not okay. The van is overloaded, with some passengers already standing up.
So, I decided to transfer to another car lift "B" company. Now, they're not allowing me to do so because they say, as per the agreement with the other car lift company, they agreed not to provide service to passengers from car lift A, and vice versa.
What about passengers' rights to choose which company they want the service from?
Dear Client,
Thanks for your question! I hope you are doing well. I will assist you in this matter.
In circumstances like these, passengers usually have the freedom to select the service provider of their choice.
If "Car Lift B" declines to offer their services due to an agreement with "Car Lift A", it would be advisable to review any terms or conditions you might have agreed to when using their services.
If there are no agreements, you can consider engaging in a conversation with both companies.

Dear Questioner,
UAE has consumer protection laws that aim to safeguard the rights of consumers.
If a service provider fails to meet certain standards or violates consumer rights, there may be legal recourse available to passengers.
If there are contractual agreements between car lift companies, these agreements must comply with UAE laws and regulations.
You can file a complaint in the appropriate Consumer Protection department in your Emirate.
