Dear Questioner,

Please note that the Pharmacy Federal Law of 1983 and Narcotic Law of 1995 majorly regulated the import of medicines to the UAE.

The Schedule IV of the Narcotic Law of 1995 enlists the medicines which cannot be carried by travellers to the UAE, even if the use is permitted in the country of departure.

There are certain procedures which have to be followed by travellers who are bringing narcotic drugs to the UAE or in transit.

A valid medical prescription or an attested certificate from the health authority has to be carried with the traveller if he is carrying any narcotic drugs.

Apart from that, the traveller is not allowed to carry more than what is required for 30 days of treatment.

Regular medicines can be brought to the UAE provided that they are not listed in Schedule IV of the Narcotic Law of 1995.

Such medicines can be brought to the UAE provided a medical prescription shall be carried along.

Further, such medicines shall not be more than what is required for three months of treatment.
