What are buyer's rights when seller backs out of MOU?

Dear Sir/Madam,

I've signed an MOU for a townhouse, and the seller has signed it as well. Now the seller is backing out, saying that the agent gave him wrong information and he doesn't want to sell.

This is after more than a week of signing the MOU. Clearly, he is getting a better offer. But as a buyer, what are my options?

I've already lost valuable time, and it's causing me a lot of mental stress.

Dear Questioner,

The MOU should be reviewed. It will mention the breach of the MOU.

You have many remedies including filing a compensation suit for the same or arbitration to claim compensation if it is mentioned in the MOU.

If you need us to assist you in reviewing the MOU, please provide your WhatsApp number.

Thanks for your question! I hope you are doing well. I will definitely assist you in this matter.

As a buyer, if the seller backs out of a signed MOU for a townhouse, consider negotiation, filing a complaint with RERA (if the property is in Dubai), consult with us for legal options, seeking compensation for losses, and exploring alternative properties while pursuing remedies.

For any further legal assistance, you can WhatsApp us. We have an extensive team of knowledgeable and experienced lawyers to provide the legal assistance you need.

Dear questioner,

The buyer cannot simply back off from an MOU as it is a binding legal agreement.

As long as you fulfill all legal obligations mentioned in the MOU, the buyer should adhere to it.

You can try to settle for some compensation, or you can ask to complete the process until the property is registered under your name.

For more information, please contact us on WhatsApp.
