Can a pregnant woman sue someone to prove that he is the father?
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a Muslim expat living in Abu Dhabi. I had sexual intercourse with a non-Muslim expat, and now she claims that I impregnated her.
I do not wish to recognize the baby as mine.
Can she sue me to prove that I am the father?
And what are the consequences if she could, in terms of child support, etc.?
Dear Client,
Thanks for your question! I hope you are doing well. I will definitely assist you in this matter.
In the UAE, paternity issues can be legally complex. If the woman decides to pursue a case to establish paternity, she may do so through the legal system.
If paternity is proven, you could be legally obligated to provide child support and financial responsibility for the child's upbringing.
The specific legal process and consequences can vary depending on various factors, including the outcome of the case and the court's decisions.
