Dear Questioner,

A Police Clearance Certificate (PCC), known also as ‘Good Conduct Certificate’ is a copy of the person’s criminal record in the state in which he/she resides.

In the UAE, the certificate is issued by police departments across the UAE and it indicates that the person is not accused or does not have any criminal precedents.

You have not mentioned, when did you receive this clearance certificate and also not specified the amount. Since yours is a credit card issue, the bank can file a criminal case against you any time.

I would recommend you to check the current status in the police and immigration if you are planning to enter the UAE.

Hope the above explanation gives you clarity to the situation.

Thank you.

Thank you, Rajasree, for responding.

I left Dubai in Oct 2009 and received the PCC in July 2013. As for the amount I'm not completely sure, possibly around AED 10k or maybe a little more.

Would it be advisable to apply for a more up to date certificate?
