Dear Questioner,

With reference to your inquiry, kindly be informed that it depends on multiple factors:

1. If it's the first hearing and both parties have not attended, then it will be written off / cancelled. But the Plaintiff will still have a chance to get it heard once again within a certain time.

2. If it's the first hearing and only the Plaintiff attended, then he might request the court to reserve the case for judgment (if it's ready), or the court might adjourn the hearing for re-summoning you (when applicable), or for any other reason it deems appropriate.

3. If it's not the first hearing and both parties have not attended, then you cannot predict the court's decision, since it depends on the status of the case at that particular hearing.

4. If it's not the first hearing and only the Plaintiff attended, then he might request the court to reserve the case for judgment (if it's ready), or the court might adjourn the hearing for re-summoning you (when applicable), or for submitting your defence memo, or for any other reason it deems appropriate.

Kind regards,

Sherif M. ElKhatib
