Residence visa cancellation from outside the UAE
Hi,
I am curious about the visa cancellation process. I want to properly cancel it when I leave my job.
Can it be done by my employer when I am not in the UAE if my employer has my original Emirates ID and a copy of passport/residence visa?
Is it required for me to provide my original passport in any case?
Can this process be completed before the actual termination date of the contract?

With reference to your inquiry, kindly be informed that in order to cancel your residence visa, your employer shall firstly cancel your labour card, then proceed with cancelling your residence visa.
The said process indeed requires your original passport, as well as your signature on the labour entitlements breakdown. That signature shall be as a proof of receiving all your end of service benefits.
Only the employer can do that, and he might face some obstacles if you are outside the UAE.
