Liability for medical costs in a rented car accident
Hello.
I'm a tourist. I got a car accident last June. The police gave me a green report for car damage. After 2 days I felt pain, so I went to see a doctor.
Because I don't have a health insurance, the medical cost was very expensive for me. So after that, I couldn't see a doctor anymore and I couldn't receive anything even medical cost.
The car was rented, so the rental company dealt with the damaged car.
Can I receive medical cost?
Dear questioner,
Please note that in order to claim such medical costs you must identify who are you going to claim against, the insurance company, the person who caused the accident or both.
Second, you must have made a medical report that shows clearly that all the medical costs and injury are caused by the accident, and you must have reported such costs to the rent a car company to claim it.
If you have done nothing of the above, you may claim now by a civil claim through Dubai courts.
If you request further clarification, you may contact my office for an appointment or a call.
