Liability for loan and possibility of arrest
0
Q: Hi! I have a few questions that I hope you can help with.
My friend took a loan for his studies and left UAE. He paid monthly settlements for 10 months, each of the payments was around thousand dirhams. But there he didn't find the job and therefore couldn't continue to pay. He asked for a delay due to temporary inability to pay, but this request has been rejected. They also said that police case has been opened against him.
Therefore he is asking if there are some chances to solve this and reduce the outstanding amount?
Also, can this affect him somehow in travelling purposes? For example, if he goes to UAE or Qatar, can he go there or can he be arrested there?

Defaulting on the payment of bank dues and subsequent proceedings
2
Q: I have an auto loan, personal loan, and 3 credit cards in Dubai, all together sum to liability up to 75000.
EMIs for all the above are not paid and defaulted for the last six months because of unemployment. Now, I am out of the UAE. I am planning to go back to the UAE by next week.
I am afraid if there is any police case against my debts. If there is any police case, then what are the consequences and how can I resolve this, and how much would be the court fine if I get a chance to settle in court?

Lifting a travel ban in credit card case by the bank
0
Q: Dear Tony,
My friend was working in the UAE and had to leave in 2009 as he lost his job during the recession. He had a credit card payment of approximately AED 14000 in total with 3 different banks.
Now, he intends to come back to the UAE. I believe there is a police case and he will have to pay some court fine. We need help in identifying where is the police case logged.
How we can we pay the court fine and get the police clearance certificate and remove any kind of travel ban so that he can travel freely without any issues?
Regards
A.

Will I be arrested for an old pending debt if I visit the UAE?

1
Q: Good afternoon,
I have a question regarding my financial status in Dubai.
I have acquired a credit card many years ago from a bank on which I have stopped making payments about maybe three years ago and right now I would like to visit my family in Dubai.
I just would like to enquire about the consequences of the visit what could possibly happen to me at the airport and what legal consequences would I face as a result of this.
I am so as a result of defaulting on my debt. I haven’t paid anything towards that in the past three years.

How to check a possible travel ban for unpaid bank loan before returning to the UAE?
2
Q: My friend has a personal loan with a bank in Dubai and has lost his job. He has paid his EMI without any break until Jan 2022. However, he has exhausted all his savings.
He missed the EMI in Feb and is still looking out for a job in Dubai. Would like to know what options are available.
Will the bank initiate any legal proceeding immediately like a case or travel ban... etc?
Also, would like to know if he is unable to get a job in Dubai, can he still pay the EMI from his home country after securing a job there and restructuring the loan?

View allTerminating an employee after sick leave and claiming compensation 0
Hello,
My employer fired me under Article 44 for not showing up for work for 7 days in a row. But that’s not the case at all. I was sick and the management was aware and they let me go.
I went to another country to get treatment because it’s expensive in Dubai. My employer did not pay me my salary for the month I worked and fired me.
I have official sick leave from another country and there is correspondence where my employer sent me to another country for treatment.
The problem is that the employer says that he will take compensation for the training that was specified in the contract, but I did not undergo training at all; I immediately started work from the first day of work and there was no training.
Does my employer have the right to charge me such a fee and not pay my salary?

How to make the seller hand over the tenant's security deposit to the buyer upon completing a sale? 0
Should the seller in Dubai hand over their tenant's security deposit to the buyer upon completing a sale?
Who is responsible for managing this process?
At the time of the exchange, the broker said he would follow up with the seller and collect the deposit.
He hasn’t, and the seller has not handed over the deposit.

How to cancel the MoU to buy an apartment with the broker if the bank did not approve the loan? 0
Hi,
I have a situation where I signed an MoU and gave my security deposit to the seller's agent. However later, the bank valuation of the property is lower than the selling price.
On my MoU, it has a clause that “the buyer has a right to cancel/negotiate if the bank valuation is not the same as MoU.” I tried to negotiate, however, we didn't agree on the price so I asked to cancel.
Now the agent is threatening me that they will not cancel the MoU and that will deposit my cheque. Later I also came to know that the person I am dealing with is not the same person whose name is mentioned as a broker in the MoU.
The agent I am dealing with is constantly messaging me with threats. I decided not to speak to him and instead, I wrote an email to the broker whose name is mentioned on the MoU but received no response.
I am on a very tight timeline as I need to vacate my apartment in 3 weeks, I found another unit but I don't know if I can pursue this while the initial MoU still not canceled.
Please, I need advice.
