Q: Hi Sir, Unfortunately, we lost our elder brother, sister in law and 8-month-old baby boy in a road traffic accident on 13th Sept. 2019. One baby girl who survived the accident was critical with traumatic injuries and multiple skull fractures. This accident took place at Haima, Sultanate of Oman while the family was on the way back home to Dubai. The baby girl was undergoing treatment in Khawla Hospital, Muscat, Oman, from 15th Sept to Jan 9th. After which we have airlifted her to India for further treatment. Now, I need to apply for a claim for 3 deaths and 1 claim for the kid as the hospital authorities have issued a disability certificate with 100℅ disability. He was holding insurance from an Insurance Company. He had a comprehensive insurance policy (Orange Card) which covered both Oman and Qatar. Q: I am seeking advice on behalf of my sister. My sister's husband worked for a company in Dubai and was away on business in Singapore, on a free weekend he took a leisure trip to a Malaysian island and was, unfortunately, killed in an accident. The company said that the business insurance will not cover the accident due to it being a leisure trip whilst on business. They are also withholding access to his laptop, although it is a work laptop, she feels there might be important policies, accounts and documents on it that are online only with no paper documentation. She will need to visit the UAE to sort out his flat and belongings, close any accounts he may have had and visit his employer to recover any payments due and discuss insurance payments. She has asked me to see if I can find any legal advice relating to these matters and to ask if there are points to be wary of, and, once she is back in the UAE I guess she will need legal representation in these matters.

Q: Dear Sir/Madam, Our company driver passed away in a road accident. He hit a heavy truck from behind and died on the spot. His family is in his home country. I have obtained the legal heirship certificate and had it attested. The insurance company requires a letter from the court mentioning the amount to be disbursed.
