How long will it take for the prosecution to update me on a criminal case?

I was called by the prosecution for an investigation. They said they would call back later to update me. It is a criminal case.

How long will we have to wait for the update?

A case with witnesses differs from a case with no witnesses.

A case that requires the opinion of a technical expert is different from a case that does not require the opinion of a technical expert.
