Q: Hi Sir.
My name is K. A. D. P. I have been working in Dubai since 2005. But unfortunately, in 2017 I lost my job and the company closed.
So I didn't know what to do because my family is with me and I have a flat with 2 cheques pending that I can't pay. My personal loan balance is 17000 thousand.
I have no other option I took my family and moved back to Sri Lanka to drop them but the situation stopped me from coming back to Dubai now.
I need to come back but I believe I have these 2 cases against me. Before I come I need to know any fine I have to pay or any other punishment I got.
Please, Sir, do let me know. I need help from the Dubai police.
Kindly help me.
Thanks

I lost my job and left the UAE without paying the credit card dues. Can I come back?

1
Q: Hello
I was working between 2016 and 2020 in a company. The owners ran away without any notice during the Covid lockdown. Due to the lockdown, I couldn't get a new job, so I decided to leave the UAE with my family.
I have no intention to cheat anyone, but unfortunately, I could not pay any credit card dues until now. I got a good job again in the UAE.
After the cheque bounce case was decriminalized - is there a chance to stop me at the airport?
Now, I am working in business development so I need to travel to other countries as well. How can we check any travel ban, criminal case, and civil case?
I can be ready to pay in installments one by one. The total amount is around AED 120,000 for 5 credit cards.
One more question:
In my new company, I need to visit various countries for work purposes at the time if I pay a fine in court/if no civil case against me.
Can I get a police clearance certificate to travel to other countries or apply for a visa to other countries?
Advanced thanks to all and looking forward to hiring a lawyer to solve this problem.

Can the bank in the UAE initiate legal proceedings in my country for credit card debts?
0
Q: I left the UAE due to the loss of my job and have credit card payments overdue. However, I found a new job in another country and was in touch with the bank to restructure my credit.
Due to the big monthly installments offer from the bank side, we couldn't reach an agreement. Now the bank is emailing me and threatening to take legal action against me in my current residence country.
Is it possible I may face legal problems in my current country if I don't agree to the bank's terms?
Thank you

I could not pay two credit cards in the UAE . Can the bank proceed with legal action in my country?

0
Q: I have two credit cards in the UAE with the amount of 30,000 and 15,000 but due to a bad financial situation, I am unable to pay them back.
Then I decided to move back to Pakistan to avoid legal action. I still haven't found any solution to pay them back because of my bad financial situation.
The question is whether I am safe in Pakistan or if the bank can proceed with any legal action in my country.
What do I have to do now because I am unable to pay them back?

The public prosecution appealed a judgment to increase the fine I already paid. What do I do now? 0
Good afternoon,
Thank you for your time.
The public prosecution appealed my judgment (a fine that I satisfactorily cleared) and requested increasing the fine.
Can you please explain what happens during a criminal case appeal hearing for me as a defendant?
Will I be asked questions?
Is the hearing just for the Public Prosecution to present their appeal to the judge, and I do not need to give a response?
Thank you again for your time.

The reason given for the termination is "considering the current business scenario, the company has considered measures to reorganize the business."
Could this be considered arbitrary dismissal?

Do I need to hire a lawyer if I found I have a marital case against me in the court? 0
By checking in Al Adheed, I have found there is a marital matter case against me in Dubai Courts. There is a hearing date for next week and the time mentioned in the case status with a link for an online hearing.
However, I have not received any message from Dubai courts regarding this by mail or phone. I have all contact details updated with EID. In this case, what should I do?
I don’t know what the case is about.
Should I hire a lawyer or I can attend the hearing by myself?
Please do suggest options.

The landlord wants to increase rent above RERA Index. How to renew my contract? 0
My landlord was asking for an unjustified rent increase of 9K, while the RERA calculator showed 3K. He was threatening to go through the Rent Valuation process, however, he only gave me a notice period of 83 days.
According to Dubai Decree No 43 of 2013 and Law No 33 of 2008, landlords are required to provide a 90-day notice period before making any changes to the rental contract, including increasing the rent amount.
Failure to comply with this notice period entitles the tenant to refuse the rent increase.
As the current contract is coming to an end by the end of next week, I have made several attempts to reach out to my landlord and his real estate agent to reiterate my interest in extending the contract and collecting the rental cheques at the old prices.
Also, I kindly requested that they provide me with the contract as soon as possible. Unfortunately, I have not received any response thus far, and considering that this week is a holiday week, I do not know what to do.
Sincerely,

Is the RERA Index Calculator the sole source for determining rent increases? 0
Dear Sir/Madam,
I reside in a Dubai community, and my tenancy renewal is approximately 95 days away.
The landlord is proposing a 15% rent increase, primarily based on rents listed on propertyfinder.ae, claiming that my current rent is 25% below market rates.
However, the RERA Rental Index indicates "no increase in the rental value" as my rent is at the top of the quoted range, prompting me to reject the proposed increase.
The real estate broker he hired at the time of my move-in recently contacted me, serving as an intermediary, mentioning that he would conduct a DLD valuation, likely resulting in a higher value.
However, he is attempting to negotiate first, considering the cost of around 2500 AED.
If we were to dispute, is the RERA Index Calculator the sole authoritative source for determining rent increases?
Additionally, if the DLD valuation is accepted, what is the potential maximum increase?
