Unpaid salaries from Dubai restaurant - How to recover without a contract?
Hello,
My colleague and I worked at a restaurant in Dubai Marina in November 2021. We are owed over 20,000 AED each by this establishment and have not yet received payment.
Recently, the restaurant changed owners. I would like to add that we made the mistake of working without a signed contract.
However, we have communication, including work schedules, contract drafts, invoices, and emails/texts exchanged between managers and financial employees.
Could you please advise if there is anything we can do to obtain our money?
Dear questioner,
The Ministry of Labor will not accept you filing a complaint without an employment contract.
You may send an email with your complaint to the Ministry of Labor to claim your salary, then file a case before the court to claim your delayed salary and provide evidence that you addressed the Labor Office by e-mail.
You must prove that you were working for them by all means of proof.
