Will I go to jail in my home country if I do not settle the amount of a personal loan?
I found out that I have a cheque execution case in Dubai court. I was even surprised because I haven't received any message from Dubai Police, there's no case that's been filed under my name.
Due to the pandemic, I lost my job and came back to my home country. I used to work in a bank, I had CC and a personal loan.
Last year, the amount that I need to pay to them was AED 60k including the interest. And now with the case, they're demanding I pay 138k.
I'm scared to go to jail especially since I have 4 kids, and a father who will go for another heart operation.
What do I do? Is there any way I can reduce the amount?
I went to Dubai Courts to seek some help but she told me that they can't do anything and that I need to pay the full amount.
