Possibility of detention for unpaid credit card while connecting flights through the UAE

My brother left the UAE a few years back and his credit cards are not settled yet. He does not know if there is any case filed against him.

He is negotiating with the banks for settlement but it’s yet not done. He has plans to travel to Europe for a job and some flights are connecting via UAE.

Can he travel via UAE?

Dear,

If the banks have opened a case against him and imposed a travel ban, then your brother will be stopped at immigration in either of the UAE airports, regardless if the UAE is his destination or if it's just a connecting flight.

Kindly contact us or have someone on your brother's behalf with a POA check with the relevant authorities if there is any case filed against him or a travel ban.

Regards.

Dear Querist,

He may have to face issues at the airport if there is any action against him due to unpaid liability.

However, we can help you with the status check to find out his current legal status in the UAE, so he can travel without any problem.

Please reach me on my phone for more information.

Hi

Pursuant to your query, it will be advisable for him to check first if he has any travel ban on his name.

If there is no travel ban, he can transit through UAE.

It is necessary to inquire first about the existence of cases against him or an arrest warrant in the Emirates.
