The issuance of a birth certificate of a child if the marriage was 5 months ago

Dear sir/madam,

I am getting married in the UK on the 16th of February. I am then moving to Dubai at the end of February. I am due to give birth 1st of July in Dubai.

Will there be issues with acquiring a birth certificate or prenatal care?

There are no issues, and you can receive necessary medical care for birth-related risks, whether you have work insurance or private insurance, provided that you report your pregnancy while the insurance is active.

Hi questioner,

Good day!

Below are the requisites to obtain a birth certificate for a newborn expatriate child in the UAE:

- Residents have a maximum period of 30 days to register their child's birth in the UAE. If the parents are of different nationalities, the child will adopt the nationality of the father.

- To process the birth certificates, a parent must submit the following identification papers to the hospital where the child is born, or to the relevant health authority in the emirate:

1) An attested Arabic-translated marriage certificate if it is in a language other than Arabic.

2) Copies and originals of the husband's and wife’s passports and residence visas.

3) Birth notification details from the hospital.

4) Discharge summary from the hospital.

The date of marriage and birth of the child will not be an issue as long as you provide a valid marriage certificate.
