Q: Is it possible to extend probation of an employee further 3 months after completing his/her probation of 6 months (as per the contract) based on performance dissatisfaction and provided with a Performance Improvement Plan?
Or should the termination happen after completion of 6 months probation?

Can the employer extend the probation period?
2
Q: My probation period is 90 days and my employer has told me they will extend for another 90 days due to issues noted by my line manager.
The reasons for the extension were not fair (personal rather than performance) but I was too afraid to challenge in case they terminated me on the spot.
I have also since found out they have already started looking for a replacement for me and the extension appears to have been a ploy to terminate me quickly and cheaply once this person is found.
Is any of this legal? Is there anything I can do to protect myself as the probation laws don’t seem to protect the employee?

The legality of extending probation period beyond six months
1
Q: Hello.
I was working under DMCA free zone listed company for 8 months. I recently received a termination letter from my company.
The end of service settlement provided by the HR director is showing only compensation for my vacations and saying my probation is extended after the 6th month for another 6 months, of course without my knowledge.
My contract is limited and there is no clause in the contract about an extension option available. Is that legal? What am I entitled for as per the UAE laws?

Q: My wife got a job offer and she joined there. After 1.5 months, they informed her that they were restructuring their employees and told her to discontinue the job.
She was on a family visa so they didn't process any work permit. We have only the offer letter in hand.

Can I cancel my house sale contract without extra fees after personal plans changed? 2
Dear Lawyers,
I signed a Form F with a buyer for the sale of my house as we were planning to leave the country. The contract was signed about a month ago, but the handover is not until August.
Due to personal circumstances changing, we are no longer leaving Dubai and would like to cancel Form F.
The Form F contract stipulates that we have to pay the buyer 10% of the purchase value. The real estate agent is now claiming that we also have to pay the buyer's real estate commission and the conveyancing fee.
Our understanding is that the 10% penalty is the only penalty. Which is correct, and what are the next steps to dispute this?
Also, is there any way to dispute the 10% itself under the law due to personal circumstances changing?

Tenant always late with payments, hasn't renewed contract. What to do? 2
Hello,
I have a tenant who is always late with their payment. Their renewal was supposed to be last December 2023.
Currently, they have not signed any new contract, provided any new cheques, and have stayed for three months from December until now without paying rent.
Additionally, I just discovered that they have sublet the apartment with partitions, which is clearly stated as not allowed in the old contract.
Please let me know what should I do legally!

Tenant received renewal notice, rejected proposed rent on renewal day. What next? 2
Hi,
We sent a renewal notice to our Dubai-based tenant 84 days before his contract renewal, with a 10% increase in rent.
The tenant neither agreed nor disagreed with the proposed rent and replied on the day of renewal that he wouldn't be paying the proposed rent.
Due to the argument, the landlord decided to reduce the rent, but the tenant has not yet renewed his contract. It has been 12 days since his contract expired.
Kindly suggest what could be done in this matter.
