Questions & Answers
What is the grace period I am allowed to stay after terminating my labor contract?
Hi Sir
I have been working in my current company for the last four years,
Recently, they renewed my visa for another 2 years, but suddenly I heard they will demobilize me within the next two months.
My question is how long can I stay after my visa cancelation?
Is it possible to stay here for up to 180 days without exit?
(New 180 days stay for jobless people is applicable for me in this case).
Hi Questioner,
Good day!
Regarding your query, please be informed that the government of the UAE has decided to increase the grace period available for resident visa holders post-cancellation of their visa.
The period available varies from 60 days to 180 days, depending upon the visa category (such as Golden Visa, Investor Visa, Skilled Employees, and other categories).
However, this decision of the government is not yet made effective with an official order or decree.
Therefore, you shall leave the country by the expiry of the period mentioned in your cancellation paper, otherwise, fines and other legal consequences will be applicable.
For further assistance, please contact us by phone or email.
Best regards.
Dear,
According to the new UAE visa reforms, a resident who has been dismissed and had his work visa canceled has an extended grace period of 60 - 90 days to exit the UAE or find a new job.
According to the previous rules, it was 30 days.
Kind regards,
