Questions & Answers
Can the landlord increase rent after the expiry of the old lease contract?
My lease contract expires at the end of this month and I have not received an increase notification.
Can the landlord increase my rent?

Hi,
Pursuant to your query, any increase in rent should be notified to you 90 days prior to the expiry of the contract.
Since the landlord didn't send you any written notification, there won't be any increase in rent and the contract will be renewed at the existing terms and conditions.
Dear,
Landlords are required to provide the tenants a ninety (90) day notice prior to lease expiry if they wish to increase the price of the property, according to the law.
However, if a 90-day notice was not given then they can not increase the price and you as a tenant have the right to refuse a rental amount increase.
Kind regards,
