A father is threatening to put a travel ban on his daughter. Is this possible?
Dear sir/madam,
I am a 27-year-old Emirati woman. I have left to the USA to work and study and I am back here on vacation.
My father is threatening to put a ban on me in order not to allow me to travel, but I am way above the legal age; turning 28 in 3 months.
Is this possible?
And can I do anything to stop it?

Dear questioner,
Unless you are married, your father will still be able to impose a travel ban on you at any time in his capacity as a guardian.
However, you can submit a motion to lift the travel ban for the purpose of studying abroad to the judge of the urgent matters, where the judge will act on behalf of your father and will lift the ban for your own interest.
Fast actions are required in this situation.
