How to make sure if a job offer is valid and not a scam?

The employer had sent me an offer letter and now asking me to contact the visa agency and pay all my visa fees and everything.

It's from a very big oil and gas firm and I am not sure how is it possible that a billion $ company can ask employees to do this experience.

Kindly guide me, is it possible and legal to do this as per the UAE law, or this is fraud and cheating?

Welcome,

It's illegal in any case if the recruitment expenses are not fully paid by the company and not the employee.

You can use the job offer number to verify the validity of the application through the website of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Inquiry Services – Application Status).

After you sign the job offer, your employer will send you an electronic entry permit for the purpose of work so that you can enter the country.

This is not legal and employees do not have to pay the visa fee.

Dear user,

Beware of scam offers from fake employers. No company will make their employees pay visa fees or work permit fees.

Furthermore, Such fees are the responsibility of the employer, and doing otherwise is illegal and against the UAE Labor Law.

In such a case, you may report the issue to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE).

Kind regards,

KHA Advocates
