Removing a ban imposed for medical reasons

If you have an immigration ban wherein you were announced having an old TB, can you still re-enter the UAE even on visit visa only?

Hello there,

With reference to your inquiry, kindly be informed that it depends on whether the ban is permanent or temporary. Although we do believe that it is a permanent ban. This is on one hand.

On the other hand, if you're cured, you can try to get a certificate stating so from the Health Authority in your home country and attach it to your visit visa application. That's the only way to find out.

Moreover, if you are not cured, then forget it, as banning you is due to medical reasons, which means that they have banned your entrance to the country, irrespective of the status of your stay.

Kind regards.

Dear Mr Sherif,

Thank you for your response.

It was declared to my husband to have a permanent ban due to the old TB which has been traced.

Meanwhile, he has undergone more than 6 months medication in the Philippines, and the doctor gave him a certification mentioning fit to work since he didn't find any symptoms of old TB and also his x-rays showing that there's a change on his lung scratch.

With those medical documents, is it safe if we will apply directly for a visit visa or do we have to bring it first to the UAE Embassy in the Philippines or here in UAE?

Thank you so much for helping us out.

Best regards,

You are more than welcome.

I do believe that you need to apply (along with submitting the said documents) in order to get a confirmed reply on the same.

However, you can save the visa's fees via emailing your husband's documentation to Dubai Health Authority (DHA), and ask them whether his current medical situation in fine by them or not.

That's the best you can do.

Kind regards.
