The time frame for processing a car accident case by the public prosecutor
Dear sir/madam,
I was hit by a car and has resulted in my arm getting fractured/broken. I shouldered all the cost of my surgery to recovery. Now, I'm recovering.
I filed a police case after I was discharged from the hospital, after 3 weeks. I made a follow-up on my case with the police department and they told me that it has been forwarded to the public prosecutor and is still under processing. My questions are the following:
1) How long does it take for the public prosecutor to process my case and will someone notify me of the progress of my case? Or do I have to make follow up with the police every time?
2) I have not filed any compensation damages yet, against the car insurance of the person who hit me, as I am waiting for the result of my case, would that be fine?
Thank you to anyone who can help me here!
Dear sir,
Greetings!
First, regarding the prosecution, you need to follow up regularly and upon their decision, you have the right to file a criminal case the court.
Second, you may file a civil case against the car insurance company to claim compensation according to your medical report, but in that case, you need to hire a good lawyer to handle both cases as there are hearings that need to be attended by a local lawyer, besides drafting memos that will help solidify your case as well.
We shall be glad to offer our services as we had many cases like yours and we get excellent judgments.
Thanks & have a good day!
