Does the law give the seller of property to request a security cheque from the buyer?
Hi.
I am in the process of buying a property in Dubai.
The real estate broker is insisting on a security cheque issued in the name of the seller which is to be kept by the broker until the day of title deed transfer and to be returned back on the same day.
I understand this is "standard practice" but is it a law?

Hi,
You have to get a consultation first before you sign the MOU to know your rights.
About your question, it depends on the agreement only by standard practice, but you have to be safe before you give them the cheque and get the guarantee.
