I would like to thank you for your insight!

Specific question: What would be the consequences of non-payment or settlement in a civil case of a 500 K AED cheque knowing that there is an arrest warrant in the civil case?

Besides the accrued interest on the amount, will there be additional punishment for non-payment and evading arrest while being in the country and there is of course a flight ban?

Hello,

As per your query please note that your all statements are true and there will be an arrest warrant too.

However, we should check the way to defend it if there is any chance in the first court. In the execution court, it will be only a payment plan.

Hello,

We think that there is something unclear you do not want to reveal.

As per your query, in execution, a maximum of 3 years for a civil case. After that, the person is deported. If there is a travel ban, he can not move out of the UAE unless he pays in execution.

We have a court order for payment and nothing is happening and no contact with him. I am wondering how long can this go on? And what is the purpose of this delay when interest is piling up on him?

You have to search the address and visa status of the person through immigration, then you have to check what the options are there, apart from UAE, where he has assets, and whether this order can be executed there.

Please explain this to your advocate.

Thank you for the answer which is very specific! What about the inability to renew visa/residence because of the arrest warrant? Does that not entail an extra prison sentence for visa expiry/overstay?

Surely there must be consequences for that besides deportation which is excluded in this case.
