Q: Hi, I need advice. I have been working for the last 30 years, and the last 10 years were with one company. I have received termination stating harassment while requesting for a face to face check with the people, facts were not disclosed. Now, they have informed me that they'll detain my gratuity amount which I feel I deserve. Harassment case - it was a complaint raised by few colleagues stating improper touching, which was not the actual case. Hence, received a termination for the same. Never given a chance to speak. However, I have not been such a person and have not done such a thing in overall 30 years of service. Now, gratuity has been held considering the harassment clause.

Q: Hi, I was terminated from my current job in Nakheel PJSC on 19-6-18. In the termination letter, they mentioned the reason as "dismissed without notice for Gross Misconduct in accordance with employee regulations manual (Chapter C - Section 23) and as per UAE Labor Law Article 120" with immediate effects. They also said verbally that the company will not pay me my end of service benefit amount. My question is, can the company hold this amount? Can I claim it legally from the company? Please advise. Q: Recently, there was a change in the management of our company and my new manager didn't like the way I look. He told me about it and warned me that next time I will be fined. After a week or so, I received a notice that I'm fined of AED 500 for the unprofessional appearance. I work for the company for a long time and I've never had such a kind of complaints before. I believe that my appearance is appropriate. Moreover, there is no strict dress code in our company and I've never seen and never signed any papers in this regard. Does my manager have the right to decide how I look? Is this penalty legal? Do they have the right to deduct it from my salary?

Q: I have been working for an employer for more than 14 years. Now, they have terminated me, and the notice period has completed. Due to harassment, I left to India and the next day emailed them that I have left. They are not willing to pay my settlement and dues. Instead, they sent me an email that they are filing a case against me for absconding and not being present there for auditing. I am sure to win the case they will play dirty games.
