Q: My employer refused to pay salary (more than 3 months). Whenever I asked for the salary he told me to look for another job. Q: Good afternoon, Ma'am I am working for an LLC company in Dubai in a managerial position and on an unlimited contract for the past 5 years. Our salaries were regularly delayed but paid. Can I claim compensation due to salary delays from civil/ labour courts as I am paying interest on credit cards and loans which I used due to these delays?

Q: Hi, My employer terminated my fixed term contract (which also has a 30 day notice period). They are ignoring all communication and refusing to pay the outstanding salary and end of service (3 months). They said if this goes to court they will claim financial hardship however the company is still trading. Any advice on options or entitlements? The claim amount is over AED 200k.

Q: I've read that at the end of police interrogations in the UAE, they print a document written in Arabic and they want you to sign it. Is it true? Can you refuse to sign it? If you don't understand Arabic, can you say that you won't sign because you don't know what is written in it? I've read many cases of people signing that document and getting into real trouble afterwards because what was written in it wasn't exactly what they were expecting.

Q: After working for my employer for nearly two years on an unlimited contract as a COO of a restaurant company, my employer owes me approx 193000, not including notice period. I have filed a case with the MOHRE. They have tried to contact the employer who has ignored the calls and is also ignoring me. The provisions of this Law, known as "UAE Labour Law", govern the relationship between employers and employees and other labour matters in the United Arab Emirates. There are special labour related regulations applicable in some of the free zones in the UAE.

This Decree sets the rules and conditions for the termination of fixed-term (limited) or unlimited (not term-bound) employment contract between employer and worker in the United Arab Emirates.

The provisions of this Decree-Law, known as "New UAE Labor Law", govern labour relations in the private sector of the United Arab Emirates. The New Labor Law repeals the previous UAE Labor Law (Federal Law No. (8) of 1980).
